Hi everyone, I recently recieved a starview the box super. plugged it all in to my virgin nrl and it was working fine for freeview - however the pay channels were scrambled. I downloaded the latest firmware (8) and have connected everything up, i downloaded the firmware as per the instructions and it took a while but was ventually complete. Now I've struck some problems. The box reboot, and now 'dL' is showing and its not working. I've tried to redownload firmware but it keeps failing at about 5%. Can anyone help me? Have I bricked my box already? Something of note, I'm uploading via a macbook, with a belkin port replicator, through XP (running in parallels). It took about 40 minutes the first time (should it take this long?) Convoluted I know, but its the only means I have to use a com port without buying more hardware. Can someone please come to my aid? Many Thanks, D
Dont get me wrong but fair play to you even getting it flashed with a Mac.Have you tried a reflash with 7.09 and I would recommend trying to get hold or at least a loan of a PC to flash firmware with.
hardcore, eh? gimme some quick info: roughly, how long does it take to flash on a pc (seconds or minutes) I read other threads saying 'the new starview 3' with inputs? Mine has S-video, 2 scarts, composite - is this a revision? I'm midway though putting 8 on, shall i just cancel and stick on 7.09 (beta) - as found in the Eamo folder? Will this allow for watching scrambled channels* *to note, I currently subscribe to a full V+ package downstairs, this is for an alternate room, so no subscription issues with me
