Hi, Have read the threads here but cannot see an answer to my query - hopefully one of you guys can help … Have a Box-T about 8 months … Its on Ch*r*s MMDS in Cork (Ireland) Was working perfectly since day 1 …. About 2 months ago the thing started to reboot itself intermittently (about once a week) - no biggy as it would come right back on … But then 2 weeks ago it completely died (no power whatsoever) … So combined with the intermittent reboot this is apparently indicative that the internal power board is banjaxed … So I bought a new power board and replaced it …. Now it has power again - But I cannot get the thing to pick up any channels (eventhough they were all there before the thing died) :- I get "No Signal" message. I put in the new Key Codes (from Big Maq) … EMU is ON … And when I scan, it tries 12 frequencies and then I get "No Signal" Message - and no channels … I did a Factory Reset … I tried different Firmwares (version.5.01e and version 8.04 e or something like that) … same result …. The coax is in the right location …. And the coax is live because if I plug it into my Ch*r*s Box next to it , then that has no problems … also I opened it up again to make sure the ribbon cable from power board to the rest of the circuity is connected OK … If I set Default Key in the secret menu (1570) it changes my Nagravision Keys that I entered previously (so I don’t know if I should be setting the Default Key at all ? ) Also besides Nagravision Key entry area there is nowhere else to set the provider ? (and when I go back in here , N*L is always the first provider that appears , but I guess this shows all providers no matter what) Has anyone ever heard of the Antenna part of the Box just going faulty (and giving No Signal everytime) ? - Maybe when the power board went it took this with it ? Or could it be something else ? Thanks
Hi Cactikid, so what firmware should I be running for Box-T (MMDS) in Ireland (Ch*rus) ? - I see conflicting info for which to load Leafleaf - firmware is like the operating system software for these decoders ... newer versions of firmware fix issues that may have been seen .. there's mountains of threads out there with discussions on firmware and related issues ... your issue is not necessarily formware - search for missing channels in general for your specific Box
Code: Also besides Nagravision Key entry area there is nowhere else to set the provider ? (and when I go back in here , N*L is always the first provider that appears , but I guess this shows all providers no matter what) I've noticed this before too, seems like this firmware was just a modded the box firmware, you shouldnt need to go into the nagravision menu if your on the latest firmware Try the below you need this version of GTRom http://www.4shared.com/account/file/32577090/e6125aec/v403_051005.html and this bin file to load onto your box http://www.4shared.com/account/file/77181355/d253f470/TheBoxT-22122008bin.html 1.Load above onto your box 2.Goto Factory Setting, enter 1668 and press OK to delete 3.Then run your automatic scan **EDIT** When your scanning make sure aerial power is turned on in your system settings
Will give that a go Cathaldub ... I think I did try that loader + f/w ... never saw 1668 entry before ... Cheers
Tried that cathaldub , but no joy ... From what you said : I now have API ver: 5.01e_E , Boot ver: 7.0 ... 12 Dec 2007 ... Did the factory reset Antenna power is On The automatic scan does 12/12 TPs and then comes back with 0 programs found ...
First thing you should check is the "power insertor" for your ariel, if this has gone bad, and it's allowing voltage to travel back to the box instead of only to ariel, that might explain the random reboot's. If voltage is leeching back to the tuner board, that might explain the board going bad. Disconnect the ariel input wire from the back of the box, use a multi meter to test for voltage on this wire. Also, "antenna power" should be set to off, ariel is already getting power from the power inserter. Do these tests and post your results.
