    hi everybody,

i got a starview box and I was wondering if it would be possible to decode the satellite channels.
The box has an output "ant in". Does anyone know anything about it?

    cheers

To the best of my knowledge, the Starview won't do satellite feeds.

The satellite connection is a screw on connector, don't know the technical term, and it is a powered connection. This is the demodulator, and they are quite different for cable and satellite.

    thanks for your reply eamo32.

so, what is the purpose of the "ant in" output?

maybe to connect a terrestrial antenna as opposed to a satellite?

    cheers

I'm not at the box at the moment, so from memory, the 'ant in' input is for the cable/terrestrial input.

Looking from the back of the box, the layout is like this
    O O
    _ O

The antenna feed goes into the top left input.
