So, when I go to download onto the box using GTRom, it comes up Flash Update Fail. I have the serial cable with two female ends, so what is the problem.
Make sure it's a NULL MODEM cable as a serial cable won't work. Try different COM PORTS, look at instructions here; http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/458541
I have same problem. installed seriel modem with installation disk. I know I,m on right port as I can see it in device manager as port3 but still i get fail.ed. do I have to have the box connected to ny tv while I am doing this.
nul modem cable not serial cable, that was my problem, once i got the right cable, fekkers software link was spot on and the download was easy. great help Fekker!!! cheers mate. fixed 3 last nite. some man.
My cable must be faulty, thats all i can think of. ordered another one from ebay. this is my last resort. I,m sure I am doing everything right. Oh well
