Just a quick one for ya's i have a starview box with the latest firmware, that wont boot up, i turn it on and get the scrolling led bar it then pauses and the no 7 is displayed on the led display . no picture no sound . any sugestions ???
Sounds like a capacitor problem have a look at Martin's post here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/531363#3216144 only takes a few minutes to do and costs pennies.
tried that aswell , the pc talks to the box no probs , i get the upload status and flash burn message when it is finished but still no joy
ill go through it again but im nearly 100% sure i got all the correct voltages of the psu board . just dont wanna throw it in the bin. i was thinking there might have been something ive missd.
Sorry have to head for a bit. No you seem to have followed the right conclusions, but I wouldnt put it in the bin just yet, give it time I will see if I can get some more info, have to rummage through a few old files.
just tried a different psu from a working starview , still no joy the only difference is the led display shows 0 now ?
no ,because it works grand on the starview i took it from . just tryin to hard flash it again on this psu to see if it makes a difference . ill let ya know how i get on , thanks for the help
