Starview wont boot up

    Just a quick one for ya's
    i have a starview box with the latest firmware, that wont boot up,
    i turn it on and get the scrolling led bar it then pauses and the no 7 is displayed on the led display . no picture no sound .
    any sugestions ???

    Strange it does sound like a cap problem. Have you tried to reflash using the hard boot method?

    tried that aswell , the pc talks to the box no probs , i get the upload status and flash burn message when it is finished but still no joy

    Does look like a PSU fault though.

    ill go through it again but im nearly 100% sure i got all the correct voltages of the psu board . just dont wanna throw it in the bin. i was thinking there might have been something ive missd.

    Sorry have to head for a bit. No you seem to have followed the right conclusions, but I wouldnt put it in the bin just yet, give it time I will see if I can get some more info, have to rummage through a few old files.

    just tried a different psu from a working starview , still no joy the only difference is the led display shows 0 now ?

    Very strange, as it now show "0" on that one would you go about changing the C11 on that one?

    jtag and delete any previos files would be my answer...cableview.

    no ,because it works grand on the starview i took it from .
    just tryin to hard flash it again on this psu to see if it makes a difference . ill let ya know how i get on , thanks for the help
