    okay, now ... count the number of vents there are on the top of it

    First Generation = 13 x 7 rows of vents
    Genuine = 25 x 7 rows of vents
    Clone = 18 x 7 rows of vents

    which do you have?

    Cool ... you have a genuine starview so this is easy ...

    You will require a NULL modem cable (Maplins) to connect the pc to the starview box. Please stress it MUST be a NULL modem cable and not a DB9 to DB9 cable (they look the same but don't act the same)

    You will also need the following files from http://eko.4shared.com ...

    CryptStar-v14-GenuineOnly.zip (in the starview/firmware folder)
    GTRom_v400.rar (in the starview/software folder)

    Extract the above files (using winrar from www.rarlabs.com) and continue below ...

    1. Plug Starview in at the mains;
    2. Plug in null modem cable and join up box with PC using COM port on PC (there is only one socket for this on the Starview you cant go wrong);
    3. Open up GTRom loader.
    4. Click on "BIN File" on GTRom and load the Auto update BIN File file that you have downloaded
    5. Now click download button and you will see the file being downloaded.
    6. Once complete a message will appear after a few seconds saying something like "download successful".
    7. Plug box in and press Menu on remote, select Installation, choose your cable provider, then move down to automatic scan and press OK.
    8. Once all channels have been found press exit back to TV screen.
    9. Now press menu. Press INFO then type in the number 1570. A new menu will appear. Move down to Key Emu and change option to ON. Press OK, then exit back to TV Screen.
    10. Go to scrambled channel (Sky Sports is recommended) and wait on keys updating.

    Job done!
