starview2 keeps turning off when im watchin something

    hi. my starview keeps turning off when im watching it. i displays a number on the front of the box. then when i turn it off at the back and back on again it doesnt go on. have have 2 leave it pluged out for 5 mins for it 2 go back on. any help please

    Id give it a factory reset and reflash!!!

    you could try it but to be honest it sounds like hardware failure if it has to be left off for a few minutes. if it displays 0 or 8 it might be a capacitor but try a reflash first.

    why has there been a new file out for the box was there an issue with file in early december? thanks foxyboy,

    i'm not sure. i think one's supposed to be uk and the other is uk and ireland. iv'e also noticed the early december stuck on updating 0% and the new one doesn't.

    that shouldn't be for a while. the firmwares seem the same other than one updating on any channel and the older one is picky and updates on certain channels. they both have the same epg glitch where the screen goes green and the box reboots.

    by the way whats 8.02 like? does that have the epg glitch, because my da has one and always looks at the epg and goes mad when it freezes lol.

    i have no problem with epg on new file, what amazies me with this forum is the the hard work its members put in to help others,. from experience unlikely to stop.thanks again

    is yours 4.57 it doesn't always freeze just sometimes.

    sorry i thought you were asking about sv3, not sure how epg is with sv2 as i loaded new file on friends boxs and heard nothing back so must be happy.

    well i'd say he would've had 4.50 or 4.51 and they do the same thing so nothing new. i've no sv3 epg problems or any problems on 8.04 so far. on 8.02 the screen froze once and the box displayed 0 but that happened on 7.09 too twice so 8.04 looks good so far.

    im just pleased i dont need to txt codes to my mates as new file auto updates, happy days
