Hey, I am trying to set up a Dedicated Server in Steam and everything works i assume, its just that when I go to the "servers" list in Steam, my server name is not there... I heard somwhere that I you have to do something with your Router if you had one (I do..) to enable others to access your server... can anyone help me or send me a link on how to enable my router so people can join my Counter-Strike Dedicated Server?

    ,Thanks

you have to enable dms but do this at your own risk cause this opens your computer up to any inbound transmissions i am currently running with dms enabled and have had no problems but that dont mean u wont

u do this by accessing your default gateway and changing your settings
if u have your manual it should tell u how to do this its uasually by just entering the gateway ip into your address bar

    this should help

log into your router and open the ports that your server is using.

ok cool, thanks guys it worked...

now, any of you wouldnt happen to know how to get "AdminMod" to work would you...? I know theres a ReadMe.txt and what not, but to me its not that explanitory. Could someone help me on the first things I would need to do? Once I have AdminMod installed and working correctly, I will just have to Install PODBOT (adding bots to your server) which I also don't understand...lol...

well installation i think i have covered...it said to extract files into your Cstrike folder (mine, C:/Program Files/Steam/SteamApps/mye-mail/cstrike/cstrike) so i think thats fine. But yeah the configuring has me stumped...because when I go to "Start Dedicated Server", I check "Console" and it says something like "Executing Admin Mod.cfg..." but does not say it was successful. One thing is though, when I'm in the server I made, it says on the top of the screen "This Server Is Using Admin Mod" in green text. So something has got to be working... and this if where im really confused as to what I did wrong or missed doing...

    Thanks for your help!

....great....back to this dedicated server problem... :(

ok, I have entered my DNS address into my address bar, and it takes me to the SMC login page, where it asks you to enter your administrator password. Which I hear all over the net is either [bold]smcadmin or admin[/bold]. So of corse I tried both of those...no luck. It just says Password Incorrect. So I went to SMC.com and looked on how to reset SMC to default settings, by holding reset button on back of router for 15 seconds. Did that. Tried passwords again. No luck, yet again. I seem to get all the bad luck... everything I try and do, always a con to it. lol. So if anyone can help me here, as I am completly STUMPED as what to do.

    Thanks alot guys!
