Have a Cingular Nokia 6030 and a Cingular (actually old ATT SIM card) and it's asking for Smart chip when powered up. Inserted SIM card and it's asking for restriction code. Didn't realize this was the "unlocking" that everyone is talking about and tried 1234 as this was old PIN on old phone/sim etc.

So, have I hardlocked it now? It still says "Restriction Code : UNDO" when powered up w/ SIM in.

Cingular Nokia 6030 purchased from someone in CANADA for use on CINGULAR USA network.

    Any help?

thanks, but, simless power up shows: "Insert SmartChip".
So I input the code listed and upon final # got "Cannot undo restriction" and it's back to "Insert SmartChip".

Will go research but if you have solution, would really appreciate it.
    thanks in advance

Also: when I put ATT Sim in: "Restricted: Undo" "Enter Restriction Code" still appears (This is where I tried several versions of 1234/12345 before asking if this was the same as "unlocking".)

If I've "hardlocked" it now...does anyone know a place to take it for unlocking around West LA?

    thanks...again.
