just kept on inserting the hard drive
i think the problem is the pins are a tight fit
so you shouldent be affraid to realy push in the hard drive
had to use pliers on the tab to pull it back out
re inserted pressed pvr still said error pressed record
and it started to record i stopped after 30 min
pressed pvr and the recorded list came on its been fine since

    here's a bit of advice
flash your box without hard drive installed
after scanning for chanells use the box for 1 day
then insert your hard drive ie time to warm up
insert hd take back out each time you insert it
push a little firmer after half dozen times push it in
all the way - you should not be able to pull it out without
pliers mole grips - etc treat it like a lady
press rec hey preso make sure you have the right hard drive
    seagate 120 gb

Thanks for that but I was asking for the benifit of others ;) so when people read this thread rather than you just saying "everything sorted" they can see what you did to solve the problem.

    All the best.
