I just watched a film called 'From Hell' with Johnny Depp. (I don't mean I watched it with him, he was actually in the film.) It's all about Jack the ripper and claims that the reason he was never caught was because he was a freemason and the brotherhood covered it all up for him.
I've also just read a couple of books by Dan Brown, namely The DaVinci Code, and Angels and Demons.
In both of these books it seems that us freemasons are behind every conspiracy imaginable.
We are nice people who do a lot for charity.
Most of the american presidents have been freemasons so as you can see we are just harmless do-gooders.
In the last few years both the British and American governments have insisted that any person involved in politics must declare if they are a mason.
Why? Do they think we are a threat?

    Auslander,
Find out where your local lodge is and go and ask questions.
You may have to sit on a waiting list for a couple of years though.

Google for it, they may have a website.
    We do, take a look.
    I'm in the Nottage Lodge.

    http://www.province.org.uk/

We have 5 meetings a year, and after the main business is taken care of (taking over the world. etc.) we sit down to a five course meal and all the Port and Brandy you can drink. This usually costs about £11.00 a time. I couldn't eat out for that price.
Usually get the wife to drop me off. No idea how i get home though.

    Auslander,
just noticed in another thread that you are 17 years old. This may be a problem as you have to be over 21 in most lodges. Some will accept 18 year olds though.
And you have to be squeaky clean, they will do a criminal record check on you.
How the hell I got in is still a mystery.

haven't had a chance to look for anything yet. yeah, maybe someone will take me in the future. there's almost no record of my existence, so a background check should turn up okie dokie.
