First, you need to find out what is stopping the PC from shutting down correctly. Right click My Computer, go to Properties. Click on the Advanced tab, then the Settings button under Startup and Recovery. Uncheck the box that says Automatically Restart. Then, post back the stop error.
extra information: actually, when the stop error happens,a blue screen flashes, 1 second max,and then the computer restarted.then.windows will prompt a scandisk because it says that the pc is not properly shut down. among things that i managed to read was ; a fatal exception error has occured at ............. and many other stuffs that i cannot catch up with. ok.now i'm going to do what you said. thanks morph416.
