Stop recording on DVD-R and then start again?

    I would like to know if I can start recording a film on a DVD-R and after finishing recording, can I start recording another film?....would it continue in the place I stopped or can it not be done?

    What is doing the recording?
    DVD recorder/player?


    On my dvd recorder lets say i record a tv show(30 mins long), then stop the recoding, i can go and start recording again and again(with free space on the DVD) until i finalize the dvd.

    Not sure that every dvd recoder can do this but i would guess that they all do this.
