Hi my name is Eugene and I'm a member of
AfterDawn. I also have received an e-mail
from AfterDawn with the latest news update
on DVDs. I'm sure most of you members have.

Do any of you have done or creates DVD Rippers?
Well, when I got the news update from AfterDawn,
one of the article tells about there will be a
New DVD copy protection called "RipGuard"
    which is made by Macrovision.

    http://www.macrovision.com/products/ripguard/index.shtml

They say this time it will be harder for us
to rip DVDs. This will take affects in September
of this year on all new DVD movies.
They say that you never will be able to make
    DVD backup into your PC!!!

Now my question for you, if any of you folks
have done DVD ripping, or created Ripping tools,
is there a way that you can come up with a tool
that would unlock "RipGuard"?? Or is there one
ripping tools that is already prepaired to unlock
    all guards, besides Ripguard???

This "RipGuard" toll freaks me out!!!
    But I hope there's a solutions. That's
why I dropped a line to you folks.
However, it's too early to tell whether
if there a tool out there that would unlock
the new RipGuard that is coming in September.
The above website I included, shows how
RipGuard works. Maybe if you fols are DVD
Ripper tools author, you can study what and
how RipGaurd works. If so, then maybe you
folks might come up with a way to get around
    with it.

Hope all this helps with answers.

    Thanks,
    Eugene

There've been several threads on the topic already. Run a forum search for RipGuard and you'll see ;)
