I am about to give up. I just bought nero7 and am trying to burn my old hi8 tapes to dvd. I had to run my camcorder thru the av out to my vcr, and out the coax to my ati unified avstream video card. I start nero vision 4 and get the video to start recording but it always will stop saying that there is no signal coming in even though the video is still playing on the screen and you can hit record again and it will start recording again. It seems to do it after about 90 seconds but has record for as long a 9 minutes. It doesn't seem to matter what i set the record duration at. I have a pentium d830, geforce 6200 256mb, 2 gig ram and 320 g harddrive. any ideas? I have tried the driver updates and such to the best of my knowledge.
Does your camcorder have firewire output? If so use that to record from it. Which version of Nero 7 do you have? Does Nero recognize the video card? I guess I am a little confused about why you are going through the VCR.
I am going thru the vcr because I couldn't get the input toggle on nero to keep the av component selected. It always goes back to the tuner one. My camcorder is about 7 years old and doesn't have a firewire out. I am not sure which version nero is. It is the 7 ultra edition.
Look to see what version you have, a newer one might help. The current recommendation is v7.0.8.2 which you can get from here. New version should be out in a few days. http://www.filehippo.com/download_nero_7_premium/ Use the clean tool for Nero 7 to remove the old version if you desire to update.
