storage question

    as dv files are so big and i do some of editing at home and some on laptop i need an external hard drive for space and mobility. i want to be able to capture dv to external drive and edit it from there.

    is usb2 ok for this or do i need firewire or should i get internal hd and external case so i can use it as internal at home

    the best thing to do, if you have to use a laptop, is capture directly to the internal laptop on the hard drive, then move the files to an external hard drive and edit them there. for that purpose, usb2 would be fine. it will probably be a better deal for you to buy an internal hard drive of large capacity and an external case and mate them together yourself.
