Can someone help me, im going outta my mind! I just had my pc upgraded and I just done a fresh install of windows xp media center 2005 everything installed fine. (I have K-lite codec pack v2.71 Full) My problem is - when I try to play and AVI or WMV files with WMP my PC starts to run REALLY slow, my 19" lcd monitor starts to turn off and on every 5 seconds and the only way I can stop it is to go to the task manager and end the WMP task, I never had this problem with WMP before I upgraded my pc. I just tried playing the avi file with Windows Media Player Classic which is in with the codec pack and my pc shut down and re-started. I can play MP3 files no problem, its just when I try to play video files, I used windows movie maker to get some stuff from my camcorder but just after I set the video format options up my computer started running slow and I had to shut WMM down AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3200+ 2.00 GHz 1.00 GB of RAM Nvidia 6600 GT Graphics Card. I know there are quite a few people on these forums who know there stuff, so if you could help me it would be well appreciated. And if not, maybe they could point me in the right direction of someone who can. Thanks.
i think the problem in drivers graphic card. try those free dvd player. also it support avi & wmv formats. it not a directx player, may be it can help you.
