I have anydvd 5.8.4.1 and clonedvd 2.8.5.1. I use clonedvd to encode the dvd to my hard drive as files. I then use nero 7.0.1.4 to burn.
The problem is that it gives me disc errors when I burn. Ihave tried maxwell -r and ty -t and a couple other discs and they all fail.
Here is the strange part. I can open dvd fab and open the files I saved to my hard drive then use dvd fab to save them to another folder. Open nero and they burn fine. I have a nec 2510 with the latest firmware. Hope some one can help Im lost.I never had this problem before. Just started.

Many users have reported many discrepancies with the latest release of Nero 7 (specfically the Feb 6 version). That could be your problem.

I have the same 3 software that you mention but the Dec 22 '05 version of Nero 7 and I have experienced no problems.

By the way you know you can burn directly with Clone DVD 2. Have you had burn errors going that route? If not, I would suspect your Nero 7 program...

    TRY THIS BETA,

    http://sandbox.slysoft.com/SetupAnyDVD5900.zip

The password for the zip archive is "ripper" (without the quotation marks).

For those who don't know if they should try the beta version, here is the changelog:

    5.9.0.0, 2006 02 09
    - Important: When installing this version over an existing
installation, you must reboot your machine. Otherwise the changes
made in the AnyDVD device driver will not have any effect!
    - New: Added workaround for DVDShrink / Nero Recode "Out of memory"
error when copying Macrovision RipGuard protected discs with
    menus, e.g. "Madagascar" R1 (US)
    - New: Error zones on RipGuard/Arccos/PuppetLock protected titles are
now replaced with "valid material". 3rd party tools like DVDDecrypter
will now work better (no more "Pack Header Error" messages - another try,
this time it should really work).
    - Note: To use DVDDecrypter with AnyDVD set I/O Model to SPTI or ElbyCDIO.
Set CSS Cracking method to none. Disable checking for structure
    protection.
    - New: Added "AnyDVD Ripper". This little tool repairs defective DVDs
while copying them to your harddisk. It can be started from the menu of
    the AnyDVD fox icon.
It is identical to FixVTS (http://www.videohelp.com/~FixVTS/) but instead
of fixing problems "in place" it copies the files to your harddisk directly
from the source DVD. It fixes the problems while the files are copied.
Some DVDs which have severe mastering defects e.g.,
"Menace II Society" R1 (US) can now be copied with all DVD copy tools
(elby CloneDVD, DVDShrink, etc.) Many thanks to the author of FixVTS!
"AnyDVD Ripper" is a tool intended as a "last resort". It is not
beautiful, and some of its messages cannot be localized yet.
    - Fix: Hang after update check with some system configurations

Just use your AnyDVD and then use CloneDVD 2 to not only encode but to burn as well. Nothing else needed, good copy, no sweat.

Like Bilbo65 said, use CloneDVD 2 to burn. In fact, all you really need for Back ups is AnyDVD + CloneDVD 2. I haven''t seen this fail to produce High Quality Back Ups yet. Even the Newest Sony/Columbia ones.

THIS IS THE REASON,I asked him to use the beta,as he wants to use nero..he did not ask about clone.

    from my above post.

Understood Ireland, Tbone2299 said He uses CloneDVD 2 to encode, so I was only stating that CloneDVD 2 burns very well. Sorry. Just trying to be helpful.

The reason I save files to hard drive is because I have 6 kids, and sometimes I have to make multiple copies. Its easier if the files are on my hard drive.

    @Tbone2299,
Did you know that you can make multiple copies using CloneDVD 2 ? When you select the output method to your burner, CloneDVD 2 saves the files in a temporary folder on your hard drive until you close the program. You can make as many as you like until you close CloneDVD 2. Just a thought for you, to save hard drive space.

i am sure ye know this, right
in clone output method uncheck delete temp video files after writing..
that way the files will not be deleted after ye rip and burn the movie.and close the program....
then go to that folder and rename it the name of the movie so the next time ye use clone it will not over write the movie ye finished b-4.

You can also "write to files" on your HD with CloneDVD 2.
