As it was Australia day today I spent my time chatting online.I caught up with my mate in NSW and I mentioned to him that I was now using Ritek GO5`s which are MCC dye...

O no he said, my supplier told me to stay away from MCC crap and only use CMC MAG . Why did he advise this? Because that`s the crap they sell. LOL

I think that supplier is full of Bull Sh*t! LOL

Maybe that supplier is dyslexic? Pretty easy to mistake CMC for MCC,just by switching around a letter.

For all 3 of my Benqs, the scans of MCC-004 verbs at 12x are a heck of a lot better than the 4x scans of Cmags. It's not even close. And believe me,some of those picky players will have a harder time reading Cmag backups.

It would seem that CMC MAG are only crap in the rest of the universe..Here in Australia the Dude rates the Aussie ones as the best media money can buy. Whatever the "Aussie ones" are I am yet to find out.

"Aussie Ones" are,as I said ,somthing I need to find out about..As too what they are, where they are manufactured etc..My opinion is that they are just the same universal junk that is so much loved on here.

Regardless of how your supplier feels about cmc mag media (which is garbage by the way) he has no bussiness putting down MCC media. MCC is grade A top quality stuff and I can gurantee you fewer people have problems with MCC than they do with cmc. Verbatim MCC 003's are all I use with never any freezing, pausing, pixelating, or other playback problems.

I have found a use for CMC MAG disks....

Make sure that the copy of your wedding video which you give to your ex-wife is recorded on CMC MAg AE disks, record at the maximum burning speed, record all the way to the edge, and use a stick on paper label which is pasted on off-center, tell her to store the disk on the dashboard of her car....should prove interesting

I think the dude plays with himself too much, I live in Australia and before I found AfterDawn I used CMC Crap and wondered why I had bad burns, coasters, and DVD's that wouldn't play after a few months.

After lurking here for a few days I found out why (Thanks Guys) and haven't had a single problem since changing to a decent media.

Obviously there must be a bigger profit margin in selling CMC's to users who don't know any better. LOL

CMC?? Yeah, that stuff is GRRRRRRREEEEEEEAAAAAAAAATtt!! Not for movies, but they make some of the best coasters in the world. I excrement you not.. You know, CMC might be doing us a small favor. They are why i came to this place, and many other ppl have learned a bunch about DVD ripping just because of CMC. Hey, maybe one day they will give a sh*t about their dye, and might even start making good media. Yeah, probably right when pigs sprout wings and fly. No, the bottom line is they have found a way to make this stuff cheap, and sell it like it is gold or something.. Big profit margin, and once they have the profit, they dont care if it is crap, they got their money.. Since some fools think CMC is great, they can get away with selling tons of the stuff. I guess the general public could care less about media manufacture, and only care about a cheap price.
Good, let the un-informed masses have them. Ppl in the know, know to use good media, and CMC aint it..:)
And TDK is not rated as highly in this forum. I know doc a.k.a. Kivory666 hates TDK media WORSE than CMC (i find it difficult to believe there is worse media than CMC). I have burnt some TDK and they seemed ok, but i have also seen many nero burn logs where TDK media was the main reason for burn fail. I would stay away from them and stick with Verbs and Tys.

I don't think CMC make all that great of a coaster. They have those holes in the center, water just leaks through. So w/ those holes CMC are COMPLETLY worthless.
