I downloaded "Die Another day" from Kazaa.
I've found when playing it back in Windows Media Player 9 that the visuals go all streaky. Images from one scene to the next blend like a continually changing water colour painting.
Other stuff I play is fine and I have the latest Divx drivers. I thought the playback would be OK but it isn't.
Is there some piece of software I'm missing to solve the prob?
    Can anyone help?

    Thanks for reply.
I'd seen movie "XXX" at cinema a couple of times, liked it and then downloaded it so my son could watch it.
Funny thing is, it used to work. It's a dvd-screener from sharereactor. I up-dated media player to version 9.0 plus had a few codec packs (divx 505, Nimo, etc). I tried removing all the codec packs in case there was a conflict but naturally it wouldn't play without them. I eventually put them all back on but the playback is still mushy.
I don't understand why especially when it used to playback like crystal quality.

Remove the codecs again and then use a program from the software section of this site called gspot to tell you exactly what codecs you need for the file!! good luck!

P.S. Never mention the name of the movie or more importantly where you got it, just causes too much trouble!!

Thanks for the advice but I'm afraid it still didn't work.
The playback was really streaky, each image blending into the next.
I checked my video card and everything was OK.
I've also noticed another file which has the same prob and that these files have no entry for video compression in properties. I don't know if this is significant.
Gspot found all the required codecs and said the image could be rendered and, of course, it can ... except with my playback issue.
Please help, it's driving me crazy!!!
