ok. so i searched around and found some good info, but my circumstances dont allow me to experiment too much. the xbox in question is at my moms house, and its 35 miles away. Also no one there is 2 tech savy.
I gave an xbox to mom for christmas. put a 500gb hdd in it, and loaded it up with movies and music. I just finished the network stuff, and have been using ftp to send mom movie requests.
my question is, can i make my media server a source on my moms xbox? in other words, can i stream video realtime to mom, without moving the entire file?
mom gets 5 down from isp, i get 2 up(same isp). over ftp i get about 225kb up consistently. so i'm guessing there is just enough bandwidth to pull it off. but what type of source would this be?

ok then philzone, here is what you need to do. there are 2 ways to do this. first, is with a .stm file, but this method can be a bit cumbersome. I suggest you set up a vpn(virtual private network). this would likely suit your needs.
