    Hi all a newbie here,

I received my box today. Now i have connected it up and installed the 7.09 firmware, however when scanning for channels every TP fails and so i find no channels.

    I am in NW England.

    Can anybody help?

Are you scanning on the correct provider?

well i'm with VM but only N*L and TW come up as well as some i've not heard of. I've tried scanning each provider anyway but no luck.

I was told that I don't need a tv subscription for it to work just a live cable internet account? Could this be the problem?

BB will do as long as its coaxial. Are you scanning from the direct feed, take splitter off and make sure coax is in cable in on the back of the box.

Can you give me the name of the town or nearest town and I will tell you who your provider is.

Tried the cable directly and still no joy.

    I am in liverpool.

When connecting the cable to the box i have to do it with a screw on adaptor like you get on tv aerials. The fact that the connector is the adaptor is solid shouldn't matter should it?

RF adapter is fine as long as its screwed home tight. Are you in the RF cable in socket on the back of the box?

BTW use TW as your provider. If that still doesnt work do a factory reset, turn off the box then turn it back on. Reflash with V8.00.

yeah the wire runs into the cable in socket. I tried the wire in the tv and got pics.

I'll try flashing it to 8
