I have avast 4.7 and avg anti-spyware(forgot which version) both installed on my windows xp desktop. Lately there's a virus or spyware that's messing up my computer. i ran FULL system scans with avast and avg, and they both found something and deleted it, but the problem still remains. all i know is that when i turn my system on, the background is changed to a blue screen that says" your computer has a virus, need an anti-spyware"A bunch of popup show up when i go online, which slows up my computer a lot. to make matters worse, if enough of these popups show up, the computer shows my real background(not the blue one) but the taskbar and program icons disappear, so i can't shut down( even with crlt-alt-delete because its disabled my task manager, even if i go erase it in regedit). Please, can anybody give me a program that can help me?

never install more than one antivirus program on your computer.

You may have multiple anti-malware (antispy) programs and i would suggest that you do

when you install more than one antivirus they fight each other

Guys/Ladies,any idea what I can do?

On 19-04-08 I ran a downloaded software that caused a virus.
The virus kept offering me unicleaner and spywarereferal, disabling my Norton 360 and taking over my browser.
Also it took over my applications, telling me that I don't have permission to enter them. Also disabled my system restore, control panel etc.
I ran an AVG scan and it picked up over 70 trojans/viruses.
Most seemed to be in c;/windows/system32 file
When I deleted the viruses manually with AVG, it also deleted all of my .exe from file (i.e setup.exe , rundll.exe),I therefore cannot get into anything.
Tried safe mode, the same thing.
Internet connection disc no longer works, as I think all of my drivers have been disabled. I can run a DVD, though, and yesterday managed to burn files using DIVX player.
I have no back up disc
I Have exhaused all options that I can think of.

Any advise would be very welcome

    Many Thanks
