I have a 3g jailbroken phone that was jailbroken on a macbook pro using pwnage tool. I am running 3.0 firmware. it has worked great for about 2 weeks and now I get the cartoon of steve jobs stating that it is in recovery mode. When I connect to itunes I put it in DFU mode and try to restore. It starts to extract the software and then right before it begins to restore it say error 28 and it cant be restored. Then I try on my pc running vista, go into DFU mode and get the same result. Then I tried on my laptop running xp and has itunes 8.0 it will do the restore process all the way up until it says "waiting for iphone" On my iphone i see the apple logo and the progress bar getting further and further. It reaches the end and then does nothing. Itunes never get passed the waiting for iphone display. Ive tried ibricker, iliberty and ieverything i can think of and nothing works. Please someone help

    Hi Jericho,

I shall try and give you a little help/support.
Have you tried holding both the power/sleep button and the home button down for 25 seconds. And see if that does at least get you to the point where you can restore the phone?

Something else to try is hold down the power button, and also the home button for ten seconds, until the phone turns OFF, and the plug the iphone connector into your iphone, and then plug the usb end into your computer, see if that gets you to the itunes screen on your iphone, then you should be able to RESTORE??

Let me know if this works for yo.
