Demon1337, try to point people in the right direction when asking for help.

Try chunkhead's FAQ/Troubleshooter. Its well possible infact I just did so last weekend with UnleashX. You will need XboxHDM to rebuild the HD so it can be read by the Xbox but you will also need the eeprom from the Xbox motherboard to lock it. Be sure to make sure the new HD is lockable too.

Its not because of xbox live. Your drive must be locked when inserting it in the xbox. Otherwise you will get an error message because the xbox will not accept it.

There is no direction to a question like that. He simply asked B$ he tries does his softmodded xbox have the swap feature and i gve him the answer all softmodded ones do. That is all he asked short simple and sweet.

Still, a little 2 minute typing can go a long way. Put yourself in his position. He probably has little knowledge of consoles and or computers. I was in that position one day and thankfully I got some great help and now I wish to pass on the education.

But there was no need to even say anything he got the answer he wanted. And the thread was over to be sent to Thread Heven where all the answered ones goto...but you wouldnt let go and wanted him to read a really long thread just for a simple YES

yeah I've already seen it and it is VERY helpful and saved me a lot of time looking for some downloads

    one more thing
After reading the tutorial it said that after installation of the new hd the xbox will boot just like a "stock console" so does this imply that I will have to reinstall my soft mod before ftping the contents of my old hd to my xbox??

Well you could use Stademands readymade files or even mxboxhack.zip which is found somewhere here on the forums, I did it so it was stock again... Hotswapped and copied the readymade files and I was back to softmod. You could just go the easier way and replace the C and E folders with the ones in the softmod files.
