Hi, Just new to Divx and have got a pioneer 575 standalone player. I have dozens of divx files that play perfectly on my pc yet when i put the onto CD/DVD and play them on my pioneer they seem to stutter, especially on fast scenes/camera pans etc..., so much so it gives you a headache to watch after an hour. I've heard this can be due to packed bitstream/pal/ntsc probs etc...

I downloaded a program (mpeg4modifier) to unpack bitstream, resaved the file with a new name but there is absolutely no difference between the two. Am I doing something wrong? How can i fix this? Or is my player just knackered?

Any help gratefully rec'd. It's starting to drive me nuts...........

Shouldn't matter if the files use packed bitstream if they are DivX. Could be that they were encoded without VBV enabled, in which case their could be bitrate spikes on the fast scenes. Do they play better off of CD than DVD. > 1 warp point GMC can also cause video to stutter, but DivX only does 1 warp point GMC that the Pionner should handle fine.
