Hi, I'll try and make this brief but its a problem thats been bugging me for a while now. Firstly, I'm trying to backup some audio discs from a local nightclub called Monroes. The discs wont play in my DVD player or on some standard HI-FI's and not in the PC either. However,I can copy the cd's (one to one copy) using clone cd and the securom profile with my Pextor. The audio tracks show up as data tracks in EAC unless I manually detect the TOC, when they then show up as audio tracks. After extraction to Mp3 or Wav the tracks are just a hiss and a high pitched bleep (kind of like a dial-up modem)and are un-playable.
Only the plextor can read it and I dont think the encryption is securom but just that the securom profile enables the reading of sub-channel data which is where the data is stored.
The thing is, I can make a one to one copy which is an exact replica of the original disc, but alas this is of no use to me as none of my equipment can play it. What I really need to do is rip the disc to Mp3 so i can create a standard audio disc and enjoy the music on my PC, DVD or HI-FI.
Well, I tried to keep it brief and thats as brief as I can get it :)
    Hope someone can help.
    Thanks in advance.

    1. If you can't play the originals with any of your devices (or have I misunderstood) how can you be sure that they're audio CDs containing what you want?

    2. 1:1 copy doesn't exist in audio CDs. All you can do is try to extract the *originals* with EAC, detect TOC manually, C2 disabled. Try different drives, lowered extraction speed (4x) and/or burst mode. If you want to create audio CDs, there's no need to extract to .mp3. Just use .wav. If nothing works you could try with some other drives (e.g. from friends' PCs) or using a standalone CD player that is capable of playback connected to soundcard digitally or via lineout -> linein.

Thing is though, its not an audio cd, although the tracks play in some HI-FI's like my friends and also the amount of data is considerably smaller than that on a normal audio cd.
    Thanks.
