I am having a LOT of problems displaying subs. They don't show up at all. It's wierd because I watch a lot of anime without ANY problems until I got a movie, and I am trying to play it, but subs dont show up. I have downloaded VobSub and it doesnt start with ANYTHING, including VLC, MPC, WMP, etc. I have tried using VLC directly and it doesnt work. I have tried loading the subs through the CCCP and it doesnt work. NOTHING works AT ALL and I am very ticked off at this point. I have tried 2 different sub formats and neither of them work, both get "cannot display" errors in VLC. ANY HELP AT ALL is very very VERY much appreciated.

    Online,

Assuming these are AVI files, store both the movie and subs in the same folder. Give them the same name, but different extensions (i.e. movie.avi, movie.srt). Make sure the extensions are in lowercases. Now, to enable subs using VLC, click Video tab, Subtitles track, and then Track 1.

Forget it. Obviously I won't find any help here. I'll go somewhere else.

he may not have felt that AF would help, but i do. up until recently subs were displaying fine on VLC. For some reason they no longer work. The option Video>subtitles>track X has disappeared. Why this has occured leaves me puzzled. The computer in question is the common area computer at the office, so several people use it, including those old guys that know nothing about computers. Perhaps something necessary for subtitle display was deleted?

I tried using MLC and WMP, MLC displays the subs but not 100% of the time. Another issue is the audio quality on MLC. For some reason the voice volume is very low, almost as if it were muted. WMP seems to be running the subs stably, but I can't switch between the default subs and english. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you
    Shawn
