you will probably need to buy a login to the motorola code server. you may have a model that is supported by some of the free software out there. my v3 had a boot loader that wasn't supported so I just bought the unlock code here http://www.newmobilefreedom.com/motorola-imei-unlock-p-113.html I did have an older v300 that I was able to unlock via software for free but that was quite a while back.
