Problem subsync won't accept .srt saying it is corrupt file

    I have Subsync v0.2.15
    When I try to put in a .srt to sync with video, it keeps telling me it is corrupt or not in subrip format.
    I know the subtitle is fine. I just need to be able to sync up with video.
    Can anyone tell me how to fix this?
