I have obtained a copy of "Notre Dame de Paris" the musical. This performance is in French, and the package contains subtitle file of a number of different language, but I only care about the English one, as follows: .DS_Store Notre Dame de Paris.ENG.idx Notre Dame de Paris.ENG.sub Now, these subtitle files are placed in a separate folder, but when I attempted to play the video after putting them together, it refuses to open. When I open the video without these subtitle files in the same folder, it simply do not display the subtitles. I have used Windows Media Player, PowerDvD, FLV player, Divx, even Window Media Player classic, and none of them seems to work. DivX does work with the subtitle files being the same folder with the video file, but again, it doesn't give me the option to switch subtitle on. Please help, I really want to watch this performance! Thanks!
The subtitle files need to be in the same folder as the video file. The names of the subtitle must also be identical to the movie.
I don't know why, but I had the same issue when trying to play with WMP. Download VobSub to have the subs displayed in the other players. VLC is also a good payer.
