I use XBMC to play MKV files. How can I edit the subtitles? On the PC it lets me change their size, font, and color. In XBMC, under settings for My Video, there is similar options, but they don't seem to have any effect when i go to play the Mkvs.

    Any ideas?

Are the subtitles embedded in the video? Or are they seperate files?

The subtitle options might only work if the subtitles are in seperate files.

They're not embedded into the file like it would be for an AVI. I can turn the subs on or off and change the audio tracks easily with the Xbox. It works on the PC, letting me change their color, position, etc.

I don't know if the subs would be considered seperate. MKV files wrap everything - subtitles, audio tracks, video - up into a single file.

Ah, ok. I'm not too familiar with MKV as most of the videos I have are AVI.

Are you using the latest release of XBMC? Or are you still using the one that came with AID? The newer ones might have added more MKV support.

I'd test it myself, but the MKV's I have don't have subtitles.

I'm using the version of XBMC that came with AID 3.0

It's weird that it won't work for me: the subs are definitly not embedded into the video: when I use the pixel-resize option while playing a MKV, the video will shrink or expand, but the subs remain the same.

You have to go into the settings on XBMX, I don't recall *exactly* which menu it was, but it's either when you press start, down, and a while in playback, or under video in the settings from main screen. But there *are* controls for this type of subtitle, and thankfully, I used them frequently, and base settings can be very irritating.

Yeah, I know where the subtitle section is. There is an option to re-size the Vobsubs, which lets you alter their size. But, the color, style, and font options don't seem to work, even though I can change them.
