Hello, I am using a purchased version of DVDFab Platnum 5.0.7.5. This is what i am do: I back up all my movies onto a media server. The movies are ripped in a single file .vob format. I keep 100% of the DVD quality, and I dont have any HD size limits. I only keep 5.1 sound, and no subtitles. Lately newer movies have been showing the subtitles regardless if I deselect them from the subpicture settings (21, the Eye...). I usually use DVD to DVD MainMovie setting to rip my DVDs to my harddrive. I have tried using the DVD to Mobile Generic setting to do this too. However, the subtitles are still showing... even though all of the subpicture choices are not selected. I have tried selecting only display forced subtitles in the Generic setting. I have tried other softwares such as dvdshrink, and dvddecrypter, but they have not been updated to handle these discs... Any suggestions on how to fix this in dvdfab platinum. Thanks!
I just tried it with 5.0.7.6. The subtitles are gone. However, now when i go to stream it to my tv via ps3, there is no sound. I did click on 5.1 when i started the rip. Any suggestions?
At least that got the subtitles took care of, now does the sound work if you play it directly from your computer? Or not there either. FYI- Latest DVDFab update out today 5.0.8.2 http://www.dvdfab.com/download/DVDFab5082Beta_avangate-689.exe
Sound works on computer. sound doesnt work streaming over to ps3. I am using twonkymedia. Thanks for the notice on the new version. I always try to keep update. I will continue researching this problem. let me know if you have any other ideas
If the sound works when playing the movie on your computer at least that tells us that your rip is good and the problem is in your streaming. You might try posting this problem in the PS3 Console Forum and maybe someone there can help you further. Edit: Done a quick search and found this maybe it will help: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/664416
Thanks for the link. I saw that link earlier. But I believe it is fixed! So i found the answer on a different forum. but I will put it here for this. It might be out there on afterdawn already.... but here it goes: I take the single .vob file and then use TSremuxer to demux the audio. I then use ImagoMPEG-Muxer to put it back together into a single vob file. I then put it on my harddrive and stream to my ps3, and there are not any sound problems. During the demux, the program says that it found a bad frame. I am not sure if this frame is the reason why there wasnt any sound, but i know that this process fixed it. I am going to watch the movie. If there are any problems, I will post back. Thank you very much for your help!
