I have been having no real issues making backups of my movies until last week. Now I cannot seem to copy anything, I have tried WOTW, The Wedding Planner, and SW3 and all have had the same result. I use the latest version of dvdshrink to copy the data to my hard drive, this appears to work normally. It ends sucesfully and the files all appear to be correct on my HD. I have tried 3 different dvd authoring tools, Nero SE 6.0, CopyToDVD 3.0.39.70, and CloneDVD2 2.8.5.1. All have done the same thing. basically it appears to copy normally, runs through the entire process, says the writing was completed succesfully, and ends. However, the DVD is blank, with all 3 programs. I thought perhaps my Burner was going bad, so I replaced my Cyberhome DX162D with a new SOny DRU-810A. thwe results are exactly the same. I have no clue what happened, U used to have no issues making backups, now I can't backup anything. If anyone has any idead or suggestions they would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Eric
You didn't mention it, so I gotta ask................... do you have AnyDVD running in the background? If not, you need to get it! It's a 21 day free trial, and then $39. Best $39 I've spent in a LONG time! Worth that, and more............ )
Hi, May I ask what type of media are you using to backup your dvds and did you change the brand recently? Burn speed? After the burn finishes have you tried to view on your pc before putting into your dvd player. A few basic questions before we all can help get you up n burning again. good catch tmflorida...I overlooked that. I love this site more everyday as it seems we all tagteam to get the problem fixed .
I wonder if your Nero is stuck in simulation mode? go into nero and make sure simulation isn't checked... These programs actually use Nero to burn in most cases. So if it's stuck in simulation it maybe going through the motions but not burning anything at all...
JVC: I do not have ANYDVD running in the background, but normally DVD shrink has removed any copyprotection schemes no problems. matt72: I am using Fuji DVD-R's looks like 4.7 version. This is the last 10 discs or so from a 50 disc pack that all worked with no problems, other than when I borked something up. The Burn speed is 8x, that has been consistant throughout. I have tried viewing the disc, it really is totally blank, nothing is copied whatsoever. tmfloria: I'll check that, but I tried using nero last, the results were the same using CopyToDVD and CloneDVD2.
You should try DVD Decrypter, some times you get to use Re-author to get Shrink working properlly with some DVDs even using Anydvd.
DVDFab decrypter is free and will handle the newer encryptions as well. YOu can get it at the software page at this site. AnyDVD however, will be the best money that you can spend for an excryption overide program.
