Okay...I have now gone through 9 different brands each of media in DVD+r, DVD-R, and DVD+and-RW. I have finally tasted success!!!!!!

For All Future Use: The only media that seems to work for backing-up the Xbox version 1.1 with the Samsung DVD-Drive is:

    Philips, DVD+RW

Thanks to all who helped me with this.

I can now play my backups

Heya, are you using the OEM Hd or 120GB or so HDD??? If you have upgraded the hd you can use AutoInstaller 1.0 or 2.0 to format the drive and install your hacked dashboard and apps. The installer recognizes a new HD and formats it for you.....it's that simple!! What bios did you flash your chip with if you don't mind me asking???
