try www.ps2laser.co.uk - i got my fliptop and swapmagic 3.3 from there for around £33 with the postage.
The last poster was probably right when he said that it might be cheaper to get the modchip, but that's if you wnat to mess around having to completely dismantle it etc and void your warranty, if you still have one that is.
Every game i've backed-up, except pandora tomorrow has worked perfectly for me with sm3.3 and fliptop.
I personally was going to get a modchip, as I know a fair bit about electronics - but couldn't find anywhere in the uk that supplied them and didn't want to order from the US because wasn't sure of compatability with pal ps2. anyway, i'm happy with how mine works... had about 30 back-ups with no probs.

That Duo 2se seems pretty cheap. Is it complicated to install? I mean...would I have to shell out to have it installed? My dad could probably solder something if it wasn't too difficult.

i've had one in my ps2 for over a year & alot of my friends also have this same chip, no problems. i believe you have to solder 17 points with the duo se chip. most chips require around 25 points.

yeah, there are cheaper and more expensive chips out there. this one is about the middle of the road i guess, but never heard of any issues with it.

It seems pretty cheap on that site you linked to. I think I'll put an order in. Oh, just wondering. Is it possible to play backups online using that chip?

you people are lazy...put a fuckin chip in your ps2 and you won't have any problems! =Þ'

no problems until it comes to returning your ps2 when it gets a fault.

or no problems if you have a very fine soldering iron and extremely steady hand and eyes like superman and a ot of luck

to my understanding, it doesn't matter which chip you have if you want to play backups online. there are certain steps that you need to take while backing the disc up, in order to go online. i'm sure you can find some info in these forums...but i have no clue how to do it. i play on xbox live, it's much better =]

I already know about DNAS patching and whatnot, I was just making sure that you didn't have to get a specific chip. I found out somewhere else though that if you want to play the originals online then you have to disable the chip.

Use CogSwapLoader which I obtained from swapmagicfix.com

Works perfect for me on offline mode and I use Swap Magic 3.0
