About a week or so ago, I turned on my computer to discover that I could not burn to either of my external burners. I have an external HP and an external NEC, as well as the internal burner on my laptop. I get roughly the same error messages w/the HP as I do the NEC, and the NEC is what I've been dealing with since last night, so that's what I'll post the log on.

The internal burner works fine. The externals are what have stopped working.

I've checked the forums, following the directions/suggestions given there, including:

Updating Nero (tried both 6.6.0.18 and 6.6.1.4)
    Updating DVD Shrink
    Uninstalling Nero (repeatedly)
Using Clean Tools to clean registry (which broke my iTunes)
Reinstalling Nero (back to the ver.that I started with 6.0.0.28)

and several other things I can't think of right now since I've spent hours and hours on trying to fix this. I know updating firmware was suggested, but I do not know how to upgrade this particular NEC...

I've tried different types of media, also.

I am running XP SP2 (Home), 1 GB memory, 3.4 GhZ chip.

    Here's the log:

Thank you very much for your help with the firmware. I appreciate that.

Might I ask, what's cmc mag?

    Thank you.

It's the company that made whatever brand disks those may be.
