    This is the story:
I have 2 combo LG Super Multi RW DVD/CD Recorders installed on my PC, I`ve already burned about 150 DVDs and innumerable CDS over the 2 years that I had them, the letter for my drive recognition are E: and F:, the “F:” burner was the one that I always use to burn all my DVDs, the “E:” one I used it rarely but I`ve burned like 25 disks on that over the 2 years. They never gave me any problems but Suddenly 2 weeks ago I couldn`t burn DVDs, I always burned with NERO 7. I tried to burn a CD and It worked just fine, but when I tried to burn a DVD, the message “Could not perform end of Disc-at-once” “Burn process failed” appeared at the end log, and the disk was left on blank(thank god I didn’t waste any disks). Then I tried to burn with the “E” drive(practically new) and the same message was displayed. So I discard the possibility of Drive over use, or hardware failure because they are the same, and this is another important thing: after Nero gave me the bad news… I refused to believe that, so I tried to copy a Movie DVD with “Clone DVD” and it burned just fine, and even burned the maxell DVD that I was trying on, so the drive was working and the disk too and had the possibility of burning. I restarted my PC, and when I tried it again with Clone DVD, suddenly came the error on the burning process and failed at the end. So I think it’s a software block.
I´ve read a lot of blogs over the past week and find similar problems, tried some of the solutions but none of them worked. I changed the speed of the burning from 16x to 8x,and update to NERO 8 but nothing, the box that changes disk at once to track at once, is on gray and not changeable. I went to the IDE ATA//ATAPI Controllers, make sure they were on DMA available and they were. This is my log trying to burn a DVD on 8x,I hope someone could help me:

There's still the chance it's hardware failure. You mentioned burning a great many DVDs and CDs over two years. It's possible that you've reached the lifespan of the DVD player.

The best bet to rule out hardware failure is swap it with a friend's drive. See if your drive works in his, and his drive works in yours.

Remember that hardware can act iffy if about to die. So SOMETIMES, it will work. But slow or random failure are still signs of hardware death.

It is very strange that both drives started doing this at exactly the same time. Still, try swapping out with a friend, just to completely rule out hardware failure. You can also buy a new drive and return it after the test, if you find it inconvenient to swap with a bud.

Hi again. Been reading more about this, and many people are complaining of this error when they use bad, cheap media. Did you happen to start in on a new stack of DVDs/CDs two weeks ago? Maybe the LGs don't like the media type (even at ANY speed).

Thanks for the quick reply JAirplay, the thing is that I have 2 exact same burners, and the other one is practically new, and has the same error, even that I only use it rarely. But I´ll try to swap it to another PC to make sure… The other thing about the disks, that is really been proven that`s not the problem because I burned the same exact disk that gave me the error in the firs place, and now that disk is burned just right, so I discard a cheep or defective media, all doe I tried with Maxell and Memorex disks to make sure of that, and gave me the same error. But thanks anyway.
