Dont worry, it prompts you to swap. And all you have to do is extract everything in the hacked config1.3.zip file to an new folder, double click the bat file it will generate an iso for you to burn.

And thank you, muzzyk. I do enjoy helping though I have to admit that I'd still be playing SSBB right now if it wasnt for the fact that we only have one TV and its in the bedroom where my wife is sound asleep.

i have this problem too any1 know a solution? i use sony dvd+r's all my other games work and ssbb works too but i get the white screen with green text error often. i keep ejecting the disc and putting it back in then and rebooting the wii to get ssbb to work.

 

So we're trying to run SSBB on a wii. Here's the stats.

Early wii - from first US release.
YoWii Modchip, preloaded yaosm
3 Brawl single layer, original, regionfrii, and a brickblocked
(all get "disc cannot be read" errors, no disc title recognition)
burned at 8x on DVD-R and one on DVD+R
Used Memorex DVD R/RW drive

Any thoughts?

 

truegrey, try burning at 4x speed and see if it works. whenever i burn at 8x, i usually get errors also.

 

Try burning at 4x or 2x. Also, I found that the game was VERY picky with what kind of media it was being used to burn. Philips and similar quality didn't cut it, so far only Verbatims have worked for me.

 

i cant fix the bad dl files, r.9,r.10,r.64,r.67...and suggestions? anyone?

 

Can someone clear this up for me?
So if we didn't do the 15% method with the single layered version, do we still have to do it when we get the dual layered version? Along with a BB version?

 

Ok my wii is 1.9g,wiikey, ntsc-u,3.1U, bought at launch I just did the 10-15% plug thing and it worked.

Im here just to say thanks to everyone who has been very helpful on this thread. I wish I could be as helpful so im going to try to help as much as I can.

Ill list my experience if it helps anyone.

I have NSTC/U Wii modded w/ Wiikey
I burned the 1.9g firmware file onto a DVD-R disc of very low quality. It worked fine.
I burned the config1.3 and the config1.3 Hacked on to the low quality DVD-R. I put the hacked one in first and it asks me for a base disc and I insert the non-hacked one and let it sit for about 1 minute then press the button and set option to set region override to on, save settings then reset.
Then I went out and bought some better quailty Sony DVD-R disc to make my version of Brawl the rapidshare version. (45 files)
I did NOT make a Brickblocked disc. I did NOT do the 10-15% trick.
I let the update go all the way on non-brickbloacked copy. I did NOT get dual channels.

My Wii looks exactly the same as before and SSBB runs just fine.

 

My next post is for everyone who already has the game. I have one question, is ANYONE who got the game WITHOUT using the Azumi d/l got this game to play online yet? I can watch ppl play but I cant play. Is there a way? Does playing via friend codes work?

READ IF YOU ARE TRYING TO UNLOCK CHARACTERS

Here is the method I used. From a webiste called Pinkgodzillagames.

1. Start by changing to Stage Select rule. You'll want the fourth option, "Junguri."

2. Now return to the Brawl menu and select Special Brawl. It's the one that shows an image of a Mario hat with bunny ears.

3. Next change the first category (the one with the % symbol) to Tairyokusei and and the third category (the one showing the bunny ears) to Hana (it's the first option). Hit "okay" at the bottom of the screen. The game should take you immediately to the character select screen.

4. Now select your character and a character for the computer. When you select the computer's character, you'll notice the number 150 appear next to the image at the bottom. Move the pointer over the 150 and hit "A." Now push up on the control stick to reduce the computer's HP to just 1.

5. Start the match. The battle should last all of one second.

6. Repeat step 5 until a new challenger appears. Defeat the new challenger (Luigi, Sonic, etc.) to unlock him. After about two or three hours of this, you'll have all the characters unlocked including the final hidden character Star Wolf and his obscure sidekick Star Bear.

This method took me exactly 2 hours to collect all hidden character. Very easy just have patience. Also jsut for reference here are the unlcoked characters and how many VS matches it takes to unlock them.

sorry for the question, but I need some answers

I've a PAL Wii with Wiikey, I did the 10-15% trick to avoid dual channels with the DVD5 SSBB, so I have 1 brickblocked and 1 RegionFrii DVD5.

Now I have the DVD9 Version... what should I do to avoid dual channels?

I have to RegionFrii the DVD9 ?
Or I have to do again the 10-15% trick and use 2 dvd9?

i cant get the dvd9 to burn

about halfway through imgburn gives me an "invalid address for write" error

using the usenet iso, no errors reported when extracting

 

I noticed the game was available to download on www.blackcats-games.net but of course signups are closed and no invites are currently available to anyone. Unfortunately my Wii isn't modded so I'll have to wait 'till the official release date.

EDIT : Actually, the game I noticed is available for download on mininova - www.mininova.org

I updated My USA wii with the SSBB brawl from Azumi and i got the Dupe channels i didnt do the 15% trick, i cna see the game then when is start it up i get an error # 001 it says "an unauthorized device is detected" is this the same error everyone gets and if so how do i get through it...im so close to playing it.Help! please

 

I'm assuming you have a Wiikey... If so, then make sure that it is updated completely to the 1.9g version. That should fix the problem.

 

sorry for being an idiot but can anyone tell me how to fix the corrrupt par files for the binary dl release? i ran te sfv, downloaded the pars, tried to repair the 4 corrupt files and still nothing.
