    Hello.

I have a pair of wide screens that serve as both displays and monitors.

    1) Looking at surge protection, ideally with a power back-up, which would be my best bet?

    This (?): Back-Ups Es 700Va 230V

    2) For cleaning them, what sort of wipes could I use, to shift the odd spot here and there and deal with dust? I do not want to buy general ones, unless they are specifically non-offensive to such surfaces.

    This (?): Falcon Dust-Off Anti-Static Monitor Wipes

    3) How can I cut down on dust, in a room? I seem to get a lot of it. Would plants help, as they moisten the air a bit?

    Thanks.

EDIT: The screens are of the LCD variety.

I use wipes similar to those without any issues, just make sure you are very gentle. I advise that you let the wipes dry a bit before you use them as they can cause a lot of smears on the screen.

    Baby wipes work great
Also a little Vinegar & water solution is good eliminates streaking

    Cut down on dust ?

Try a HEPA filter from Home Depot, or one of those electrostatic filters from Radio Shack ot the Sharper Image.

For cleaning, I just use a microfibre cloth and some lcd tv cleaning solution, make sure the screen is cool to the touch first, I find if the screen is warm, it streaks.

As for the dust, just get a hepa air filter like iluvendo said.
