I have installed Surreal 64 onto my X-Box and have installed in and added in my ROMs. However, when I loaded the ROMs page (all were detected except the ext .7z, but two were not playable and errored out. These two have been used on my computer on Project64 and I was wondering how come they don't work on my X-Box. Both use the z64 ext by the way. Any help on this matter would be very helpful.
hey im sort of having the same problem when i FTP surreal 64 onto my xbox the xbox wont read the files at all any help would be great
I had this problem for a while and all i had to do was reinstall surreal64, also the xbox port of surreal doesnt support 7z yet as surreal64 is a beta. and which games were you trying? some arent compatible on xbox. here is a list of games that do and dont work: http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?act=ST&f=17&t=156834
That was a great help thank you. The only game I could not find on that list that was on the list of problems was Ogre Battle. If you know what the deal with this game is let me know.
Well for the .7z , you must extract the files to your PC using winRAR and then you will get many .z64 files.Put either one .z64 file to your xbox. It depends on you.
Okay, I was scrolling through soem other sites and found a link for a bit torrent that fixed my gaming issue. This torrent contained a .iso that had Surreal64 + 297 games already set up to be burned to DVD-R. So I researched the proper DVD-R needed for my drive (Phillips). Now, it auto-launches fine into Surreal, however when I tried to load the ROM list it took forever. It took around 50 minutes to finish, which wasn't even complete. The top 10ish roms had no title and didn't give off any info other than size, and the rest only loaded up to "G". I tested one of the games (Battle Tanks), and the game/emu functioned properly. I then had my friend try the DVD on his XBOX. It only took about a minute to load and loaded a complete list. All games read perfectly and ran (tested only 3). Any guesses on why this occured? Could there be a corrupt file left over on my dashboard from the Surreal I had on my HD? Or could it be a dirty/bad laser? One mroe thing when I did a file search using XBMC it showed all 297 games and Surreal files on my XBOX. I apologize for the text wall, but I don't know what to cut out.
Well, I managed to get the Roms to work (although soem run a bit slow and others have terrain glitches). So, I went looking for alternatives and found a link that gave me a bit torrent DL. It contained a .iso that contained Surreal64 and 297 Roms. I researched the proper DVD for my drive, and burned the iso via Nero. The DVD auto ran through my XBMC, but when I told it to load the ROM list it took 50 mintues and loaded a incomplete list (only to "G"). Also, the first 10ish Roms had no titles and only had the file size for information. I tested it out briefly using Battle Tanks. Worked okay. I then went to XBMC and did a file search on the contents of the DVD. It had all the Surreal files and all 297 games on the list. I then took it to my friends and had him try it. I have a Phillips drive and him a Samsung, but none the less the DVD loaded. Rom list took only 1 minute, was complete with no errors, and tested to work properly with randomly selected games (15 total and 10 minutes of game play). Anyone know what my new problem is? I think it is either a leftover corrupt file from Surreal64 on my HD (removed when I made DVD) or a dirty/bad laser. Sorry for the wall of text.
Crap, sorry for two posts first wasn't showing so made a second. Any admins able to delete first (second is more stream lined)
