When I hook up my DVD player to my surround sound there is always annoying skip in sound when I play a DVD. This is most noticeable on the menu screen and also when there is periods of silence in a film for example. I originally thought it was the cable I was using, I was using an Optical lead, but after changing to a coaxial lead, the problem is still the same. When I play through TV it is fine, so I don't know what to do. I have a Toshiba DVD player and Eltax Amp and Speakers!

    Any suggestions????

Have you been through the audio portion of the menu on the DVD player?

Make sure Dolby Digital & DTS* (*if your amp accepts it)are enabled.

[bold]What are the model numbers of your Amp & DVD player?[/bold]

Do you have any other digital sources to test the Amp with, like an Xbox or something else?

Did you try setting the player to Bitstream?

That is the setting I have always used.

If that doesn't work I would have a friend bring over another DVD player so you could confirm if your problem is with the amp or your DVD player.

    Good luck!

    XBG is right..........
If your system is a Dolby Digital system, it MUST be set on "bitstream", for DD 5.1 and DTS.
If your system is Dolby Pro Logic system, you will need to use PCM.
