I currently have a Sony htk215 surround sound system, but it has gone on the blink (the two rear channels are working intermittantly) therefore i am looking for a relatively cheap surround sound solution that has at least 2x optical inputs and possibly some co-ax. although the more optical inputs, the better.

    My Current set up is:

    Panasonic 32LXD60
    Sony HTK215
    Telewest TVDrive
    Pioneer DVR320
    Samsung DVD-HD860
    Xbox 360

I have noticed that there are a couple of sony systems that have HDMI, which would go nicely with my Panasonic 32LXD60. However i understand that some of these actually only operate as a throughput, is this correct?

    Hi soupladel,

I've still got a Sony HTk-215. I too had this problem but luckily I took out the extended warranty. The engineer who came out confirmed the problem to be a 'dry solder joint' on the amp side of the speaker outputs. As i said the warranty covered this work.
I bet you could probably get it soldered for 20-30 quid if u shopped about. That's if u want to keep your current setup!

    hope this helps!!!
