I have a received with a built in DVD player and the sound works great on all 5 speakers and the subwoofer. The sound only comes out of the front two speakers when I hook up my Starchoice receiver, PS2 or Gamecube. Can somebody please help!

There should be a button on the DVD Player called "Selector" or something similiar, you must toggle it a couple of times until the LED display shows that it's on TV mode, now all sound that comes from the TV e.g Playstsation, will come from the DVD Players surround sound speakers. Now jus turn the TVs volume all the way down and use the dvd players volume control to control the actual volume now :p Hope this helped. The only complicated bit is finding the selector button, or whatever it is on other DVD Players.

    edit--
BTW if your surround speakers have an optical port, you can buy an optical cable and connect the speakers direct to your PS2 this way.

So the DVD player was playing a movie and all my speakers were working great, while the DVD was still playing I switched over to the Starchoice to watch TV and switched the receiver so that the LED on the DVD player reads AUX IN and the sound only comes out of the front two speakers still. I switched back over to the DVD that was playing and all the speakers worked again.
    Have any more ideas?

Isn't there an option on the LED that says TV? Never tried AUX IN:( I stick to TV cos the signal is going to the TV and the TV will output the sound so that way the DVD Player now takes over. There's always the optical cable.

    Edit--
BTW I checked on the Star Choice website and they also recommend using an optical, electrical cable for 5.1 surround sound.

You can also use the orange RCA cable, if you have the port on both the speakers and the star choice receiver.
    Hope this helped.

Still can't get it work. I might just bring this thing back. It is probably still something I am doing wrong but I am out of ideas and patience. Thank you for your help though.
