    I have an Ilo dvdr05.
When I schedule a recording it shows READY.
But when I come back later when it should be finished, the screen for that item shows SUSPEND.
    What am I doing wrong?

Is this a 05 ZU, MU or MU1 It should indicate that on the serial # tag on the box or the unit

A ZU. I think the disc was either full or it was one that I used on my computer and it was not compatible.
Anyway I erased it and it worked then. Does that sound right?

    Yes

If the disk is full or does not have enough empty space, it will not record
I forget what the ZU does under timer record, which I assume you are using. The reference to [Ready] does not seem right for any model.
The MU models will say [Valid] in the last column if the timer is set correctly and the disk has enough space, and [Overflow]if not.
The column for length is the length of the recording, not the length of time.

The ZU model has had many problems
I would return the ZU and exchange it for a MU Or MU1, They are are a better unit and have a better edit
