OK I know this is not a DVD issue but still a burning issue that I do need help with.

Ok I have burn bin & cue file all the time and never had a issue before and for some unknown reason my dvd player hates this SVCD its all patchy and looks pretty bad.

I tried it on the computer with my cd player and it worked like a dream so its only my dvd player thats having the issue. (not the dvd on the computer, one that attached to the tv) but its played SVCD before many of times this is the first time its decided it going to to play it properly.

I put another SVCD that I have played before and it played it ok, so I dont know if its just this particular movie, I done it twice to make sure it was not a cd issue and still doing the same thing.

I burn as a bin & cue (as image) and even converted it to nero file and burn it and still the same issue.

Has anyone got any idea where I can go to now or my dvd player being stupid lol :)

    Cheers :-D

    Hi,
it's been a while since I've done any SCVD's, but from my experience finding the sweet spot for the bit rate is the key. At what bit rate are you encoding, what encoder are you using, what's your burning software? More info is needed, but you might try to compare bit rates with the SVCD that plays and the one that won't and you may find your answer.

ahhh see you learn something new every day, I never knew there was a bit rate with this... there you go :)

Well I first use ISO to burn the image and then when that didnt worked I convert the file to nero and use nero to burn the image and the same problem happen.

Do you recommend a program that I can maybe change the bit rate with that might help it to work?

    Cheers :-D

Check out vcdhelper.com. There are some useful guides and info on the subject. As I said it has been quite a while since I have encoded / burned and svcd files. With the price of black DVD's being so low, why would you want to even bother?

Thats for that, I wish I didnt have to use cd but bin and cue file I thought you really had no choice.

But found a way to extract the mpeg file and then convert it to a vob file then I burn it to dvd now, only issuse is its shinks the movie so I think I have to fiddle around with that to get the correct ratio.

I hate bin & cue file and 50% of movies I download are bin & cue ahhhh!

    Cheers :D

    hi

i use mainconcept to convert the extracted mpeg file from the bins

i run 2/3 lots of the same app at once and do say 2 or 3 files the same time to get dvd compliant mpegs then i load these to tmpgenc dvd author to make vobs etc

but but theres an app to change the header in the mpeg, say five mins to dvd complaint the app is dvd patcher then author those mpegs in tmpgenc dvd author or in divxtodvd to make vobs for burning
