hi everyone. i'm from the uk and i have the Schneider DVD player. it plays mp3, dvd's, vcd's and svcd's. i recently downloaded an svcd (dvd rip) film and burnt the iso's onto 2 cdr's. the film played immaculately and the quality was nearly identical to dvd. the sound was very good. the film was in PAL format. however, i've got another svcd film in 3 iso images. once i burn the image to cdr and play it, the quality of the movie is as expected, but the sound (and sometimes image) keeps jerkin. i even tried a lower recording speed but this made no difference (8x is the lowest my liteon 24x writer can do). however, that first svcd that i burnt (PAL format) was done at 16x and 24x and it still played immaculately, and i'm using the same cdr's. i'm really getting fed up now cuz its wasting lots of cdr's. i even tried converting a divx movie (NTSC film format) to svcd mpeg with TMPGEnc and i then burnt it to svcd using nero. the SAME problem occurs though, when played in my standalone. the mpeg2 file that i made from the divx movie plays fine on my pc (even when run off cd as an svcd - burnt at 8x). however, the svcd that i downloaded which is 3 iso's long, when i play that on my pc via my dvdrom, it jerks like mad. do u think its because i need to record at a lower speed than 8x?? if so, then why did that PAL svcd (burnt at 16x (CD1) and 24x (CD2) play perfectly on my standalone. could it be due to the fact that the svcd's giving me problems are in NTSC format as opposed to PAL?? please help thanks
could be a problem with who ever originaly encoded those svcd's... ------------------------------------------------ as my friend yoda from star wars would say (IN yoda's voice:You like that yes uhmmmmm.)
