hello I downloaded a movie I wish to play on my dvd player it is a 823MB bin file I used vcdgear and converted it to an .mpeg with the help I found here then I used TMEGEnc, selected DVD-NTSC-16:9 (I have a wide screen tv)then hit "next" the following screen I put the aspect ratio to 16:9 525 line [NTSC] and also selected "film movie" in content of video box and last but not least select noise reduction in the last screen resulting in a 3.1 GB M2V file and a 610 MB wav file I don't know how to burn them to my dvd-r disk I looked around and and can't make sense of it I also tried SVCD2DVD and uploaded the .bin file then convert and quic k burn...the resolution is pretty good but again I have no sound? any help would be great either with burning the svcd to dvd or help with the svcd2dvd sound note--a also tried divx to dvd but again no sound and crap resoultion
Use the same settings you did before in TMPGEnc but under Stream Type on the main screen in the bottom riht hand corner make sure you select System (Video & Audio). Then under settings, select the system tab and under Stream Type select MPEG-2 Super VideoCD (VBR) Post back to tell how it works
I can't seem to change anything in that screen mkaseatgb its all greyed out do I need the full version to change the Stream Type?
When you first start up TMPGEnc, immediatly close the Project Wizard screen that comes up. That should allow you to change the settings.
an easier and better way is not to reencode. svcd is mpeg2, so you can use it straight away. first extract the mpeg2 from the avseq with tmpegenc mpeg tools, demultiplex. then all you need is dvdpatcher to rewrite the header to 720x480 so your dvd authoring tool can use it. right after loading it into the author rewrite it back to 480x480. the only thing you need to convert is the audio, you need upsample the audio to 48khz. i don't know the workaround for this.
ok I did it mkaseatgb way and got a 3.2 GB mpg file that I have no idea what to do with I also tried shiroh way by extracting the sound with tmpegenc I then threw the sound file in the Audio_ts folder that svcd2dvd created and burned it with nero it works great on my dvd, resloution is pretty good but not perfect I just need to figure out how to burn both parts of the movie to one disc now also curious mkaseatgb what should I do with that file ?
Shiron is going to have to help you from here. I dont own a DVD burner, but I know how to conver to MPEG-2
PITTY: You do not have to re-encode your SVCD File to Put it on to DVD...Re-encodeing the File Just Degrades the Quality and Makes the File size much bigger.... You can Put SVCD Mpeg-2 files onto DVD Without re-encodeing the File useing "MediaChance DVDLab Pro" which will allow you to Fit up to 3 Full SVCD Movies on a Single DVD useing this Method and the DVD"s will Play on 95% of DVD Players.... If you look in the Guides section you will Find Guides on how to Put VCD and SVCD Files on to DVD without re-encodeing so there is No Quality Loss and you can Fit much More Video on a DVD.... Cheers
