svchost.exe??

I have 8 of these running in my processes??/is that 2 much and what is it

Services like Terminal Services can be shut down. This will eliminate one of the svchosts. I would take a quick walk through all of your services and shut down what is not necessary. I bet you will notice that a few of the unwanted services load via svchost.
