I have 2 360's ones broken and one works. Now the broken one, the dvd drive works. And the one that's not broken, the dvd drive wont read games. I JUST want to switch drives. All the instructions are to mod your xbox. I dont want to mod my xbox or ANYTHING like that. I want it to be completely normal but i need to switch drives. Sorry but i've been looking for hours and don't know if there is a guide that tells you just that. Could somebody PLEASE point me in the direction of that type of guide. I would GREATLY appreciate it! Thank you!
Hi Rickstaaa, Well in order to do what you wish to, you will have to in a way mod your box. You will have to get the key from the drive and inject it into the other one. That key will only work with that motherboard. So dump the key from the one drive and flash the other drive with that one. Don't know if there are guides with specific instructions for that but if you pick up the mod guide it will tell you how to do it. I think bhetrick has one on his sig. You could PM him to get it. Yeah i've been reading up about that for the past couple of hours. But all these guides are so confusing. Im not technically challenged i'm actually pretty smart when it comes to technology but this stuff just confuses the hell outta me. Haha. But thanks i will check him out and see if the guide's available. If anyone else has any kind of input, it's all welcome!
If There the Same Drive you Can Pull The Controller Board Out and put it in the other drive or you can buy a replacement drive and go that route and no software or modding is required
with a replacement drive you will need to pull the drive key of the orig drive and flash it to the new drive before it will work. just as you would if modding the drive. if you replace the drive with one of different manufacture you will need to spoof the new drive.
